Parking permits in Maastricht

Resident Parking Permit

If you live and study in Maastricht, you can apply for a resident parking permit. This permit entitles you to park your car in the zone you live in. Prices depend on how far away from Maastricht’s city centre you live. You can apply for a residents parking permit online. Make sure to place your parking permit visibly on your dashboard.

Usually in Maastricht, only one resident parking permit is allowed per household. If your accommodation provides a parking space already then you are eligible for a residents parking permit to park on the street for your second car. For more information click here.

UM students

You can park for free with your UM card 24/7 near UM Sports (Sorbonnelaan). Most UM parking is reserved for staff because of the limited space that is available. The policy with this is that “full is full”. So, if the parking lot is full, you cannot gain access and there is no guarantee of a spot.
